The Maltings goes green!
16 February 2010The Maltings Shopping Centre in St. Albans is proud to announce that it has successfully managed to reduce the amount of rubbish they dispose of and recycles an amazing 100% of its waste.
In the UK, any waste that is not recycled is put into landfill sites where all the degradable materials break down, producing methane, which is one of the perilous greenhouse gases.
Phil Corrigan, Centre Manager of the Maltings commented:
“Ensuring that we recycle as much of our waste as possible has been a conscious decision from everyone at the Maltings. With landfills around the world reaching capacity, it is more important than ever that we help protect the environment.”
He continued: “Using your own shopping bags and buying products that are recycled all help to preserve the Earth’s resources and reduce the amount of rubbish dumped in landfill sites.”
So go green too and help the Maltings maintain their commitment to the environment by recycling more and reducing landfill waste. Small changes really can make a big difference!
